Kek batik milo

Salam,

Dah lama miss t mintak buatkan kek batik. Awalnye rancang nak buat masa raya haji maghin. Tapi oleh kerana ada permintaan sour cream butter cake dan kek marble jelita untuk dijamu semasa raya haji maghin, jadi kita tangguh dulu permintaan miss t. Harinie akhirnya berjaya juga buat kek batik. Sey ajar miss t buat, sey supervise aje, biar dia pandai buat, lepas nie takdo lah dia minta sey buek an lai. Boleh yo dio buek kan.....

Resepi kek batik nie kawan sey yang bagi. Lama dah, masa zamn universiti dulu. Semenjak sey dapat resepi nie, selalu juga sey buat, dan orang pun suka pulak dengan kek batik buatan sey nie. Chewahhhh...maka jadilah kek yang kerap sey buat, eh boleh panggil kek ko....heheheheh....

Kalau sey buat carian santai kat en gugle tu, ada gak kek omputih mirip kek batik nie. Diorang panggil biscuits layer cake, something like that. 

Sey teringin juga nak buat kek batik indulgence, atau kek batik with chocolate fudge. Tapi bahan-bahan tak cukup pulak harinie.

Menjeruk cili, jangan menjeruk hati

Salam,

Ahad malam Isnin, tengah rehat-rehat lunjur-lunjur kaki, miss t tanya, "mama boleh beli mangga tak esok?" . "Adik nak buat ape?", sey tanya, "untuk science projek," katanya.

Allah, sey memang malas nak singgah kedai esok. Sabtu dan Ahad nie pun asyik keluar masuk rumah beli barang dapur bonda. Hey miss t nie pun satu, malam-malan camnie, nak sekolah esok baru lah teringat nak beli itu ini. Nie mesti leka siang hari, malam baru nak check list sekolah. 

Sey pun cakap,

"Ala dik, mama malas lah nak singgah kedai esok. Ada tak benda lain selain mangga?'

Adik said something, but I forgot what was it. Her science project is about pickling, menjeruk. Then she said,

"Takpelah mama, esok kawan adik bagi nenas, nak buat jem"

" Dah buat jem pulak, tadi kata jeruk. Lagi payah nak buat jem, nak blend, nak masak lagi. Masak tu payah juga, nanti meletup-letup," sey terangkan pada miss t.

Hmmmmmmm..... kemudian sey teringat. I turned to miss y.

"Eh kakak, bukan pernah ke buat projek sains jeruk nie?"

"Haah"

"Awak buat jeruk apa?"

"Kakak buat cili je"

Haaa cili..... cili hijau pun banyak dalam fridge.

"Haaa... apa kata adik buat cili jeruk?" sey memberi idea.

"Cili jeruk? Nanti macammana nak makan tu? Adik kena tunjuk bukti makan dengan jeruk tu?"

"Makan lah dengan mee goreng ke, mihun goreng ke?" sey bagi cadangan.

"OK...."

Maka, malam tu, sebelum sey tido, sey pun siapkan bahan-bahan untuk menjeruk cili. Sey pun bukan tau pun buat, dulu pun miss y yang buat sendiri. Apa lagi sey pun meng google, jumpalah page ini. 

Nanti boleh tengok hasilnya, jadi ke tidak.

MCO Day 35: Go with the flow

Salam,

Harinie sey keluar beli barang. Sasaran adalah bahan-bahan nak buat kuih dan juga some baking stuff. Tak lupa juga barang keperluan bulanan seperti sanitary pads. Yang ini my other half tak boleh beli, macam2 jenis kang dia pening. Rumah nie ada 3 orang memerlukan sanitary pad. Salah beli kang tak boleh pakar pulak so baik sey yang beli.

Balik rumah kemas barang, kemudian siap-siap nak masuk keje. Harinie tak masaklah, kite order je nanti. Petang kang ada meeting pulak.

Dah masuk 5 minggu PKP nie, nampak kesan memberansangkan. Minggu depan tamat ke? Tapi masih ada kes positif lagi...aduiyaai.... kesian pada miss t, dapat ke tidak dia ke sekolah lagi tahun nie, dah lah UPSR batal, tahun nie last dia sekolah, mesti nak jumpa kawan-kawan, cikgu-cikgu sebelum sekolah berakhir. Bila tanya dia, dia memang cakap dia OK, tapi miss t nie suka sorok perasaan dia. Dia tanya, kalau adik face time ngan kawan-kawan, kawan-kawan nak ke? Sey encourage lah dia untuk face time tu.

Benarlah apa yang ada kat dunia nie sementara, apa yang kita rancang tak semestinya berjaya, apa yang kita kejar tak semestinya kita dapat. Jadi apa nak pening-pening, go with the flow aje lah.

MCO Day 30: My new gadget

Salam,

Today I was busy preparing for the online class  and also class assignment description. The class will continue starting 27th April. So focus fazid. You need to prep your gear now. And today, I received my additional gear. Just in time.

I saw a friend of mine using the tablet for teaching. I found it interesting, thus I went to Lazada and found it. It tooks 4 days since I placed the order to arrive. That's fast, just that it took time to install it. Apparently the driver only support Windows 10 and above, I still use Windows 7, hey don't laugh, old OS is still functioning like a bull, and it is easy to manipulate. So I searched for a compatible driver and I found it. So since yesterday the tablet has successfully installed plus miss t has been exploring it successfully. She mastered it damn quick. You can see her drawing on the 2nd picture.

So, with the installation, testing, and demo video, it took the whole afternoon off my work. OK lah, this is also part of work.

Today technically I didn't cook lunch. Because lauk semalam ada lagi, so sey goreng tempe dan ayam goreng je sebagai tambahan.

MCO Day 18: Feeling wonky

Salam,

I woke up today, and went back to sleep immediately after. I have been up late for a few days now, slept at almost 2 am, reading Along came a spider. I wanted to finish it before the weekend ends. And as a result I feel wonky today.

I prepared lunch early today. Sotong goreng kunyit and ikan masak taucu. Ikan masak taucu the least fav dish in my family, but I love it. I love it during my childhood days. Bonda often cooked it. This type of dish susah nak jumpa kat kedai. This time I used Knife's tauchu. Sedap. You only neef to add water. Dah cukup asam garamnye.

OK... I want to go back to the book.

RM1 Ice-cream

Since we have moved to Nilai, many things has changed. Miss y and miss t are still schooling at BSP because we have yet to transfer them to schools in Nilai. Thus, on Friday, en. e will bring the kids to BSP and we will have lunch together.  En. e has to return to Nilai to get ready for Jumaat. Since, it is still early, I will bring the kids to our old apartment, while waiting the time to send them to schools. Usually, I will send them around 1.30pm and then I will return to the office.

Throwback hari kesembilan Ramadhan: Lost her first tooth

Just for the record, adik lost her first tooth on Monday, 7 July.

Gigi tu dah lebih sebulan goyang, tapi nak cabut dia tak bagi. Me suruh dia goyang selalu. Mula nak bawak jumpe doc, tapi sebab dah goyang, selalu doc suruh cabut sendiri. Gigi baru pun dah tumbuh belakang gigi susu tu. Both miss y and miss t gigi baru tumbuh belakang, yang gigi susu pulak liat nak cabut. Tu yang gigi miss y berlapis-lapis. Adehhh... nie miss t pun nampak ada ke arah itu juga. Hai, ikut genetik sapelah diorang nie, en. e kot (biasalah ikut resmi bangau hahaha), sebab me bila gigi baru tumbuh, gigi baru tolak gigi susu. Kecuali satu gigi taring nie, tumbuh berlapis, bertingkeh kata orang. So my mom bawak jumpe doc n cabut. Perghhhh sakit giler. Mak cakap, orang pompuan tak cantik gigi bertingkeh, me abang tingkeh juga, tapi sebab dia lelaki, my mom biarkan aje.

Happy miss t bila gigi dia finally cabut. Boleh makan dengan selesa lepas nie.

So, semalam mencari resepi untuk masak lauk daging di internet, dan ternampak imej yang sangat mengiurkan... ok..sangat teruja untuk mencuba resepi daging kicap ittew.

Adik's jargon "Kukunaka"

Since in Brisbane, when adik aka miss t can speak, I keep track on her baby words. Words that she unable to say correctly. When she was two-year old, she had spoken a lot of words. Often we laughed at her incorrectly spoken word, not to downgrade her in sort of way, but because it sounded funny.

Of boiling and piercing

This weekend is the best ever weekends I ever had. I meant the best among the best, so far. Because I received more than one good news, and today mark great achievements. Either about my work, my family and my life. I have never be a lot happier, it was strange though, but happy. I wore a smile on my face, yes, I mean literally. But I will not write it here, no no. Let me keep that to myself. Alhamdulillah. Thank you Allah.

And, it has been a long time, a very long time, of me posting and writing about my cooking. And now, let me present you with my dinner tonite. Yup, only for me, because the kids had a roast chicken, while their dad had fish and chips. Well this ubi rebus (boiled tapioca) and sambal was a kick tonite. This is my first time boiling the ubi  from scratch. Usually I would ask my beloved mom to cook for me. She usually served the boiled tapioca with young desiccated coconut mixed with salt and sugar. That's absolutely delicious. We usually have the ubi rebus with black coffee, with sugar of course.

Now, my little girl, the youngest one just had her ears pierced. She's been nagging me for weeks. You know how persistent you are adik, everyday you asked me the same question,"Mama, bila adik nak pakai earings?" Adoi.... finally, she got it. Happy, for sure. Jumping up and down with joy. So determine to get her ears pierced, she didn't feel pain a bit, and so she said. hahahahha.... Suke hati laaa....We made many new arrangement for adik. We changed her to a new school since she has started playing the malas role. Everyday she would create an excuse. I guess she's bored with the school, been sending her since she's 3 yr old. Don't ask her to do the same thing over again, things that she has mastered, she will get bored. She's happy now, with her new school. When ask, what so great about your new school,"best laa, cikgu tak pukul2 lagi." I did ask her several times, if she has ever been punished by the teacher without any reason. She denied, but said that her friends did, and that has feared her, a lot. Garang betul cikgu dia tahun nie. So we decided to change school, and that was not the only reason.

A quick post: "Air pasang malam"

I find it hard for me to write in this blog nowadays, time is not only the issue now, even if I have the time, there is always something else attract my attention (I blame it all on the TV huhu). Sometimes I feel like I am sneaking into my own blog. hahahaha... what a weird feeling?!

Adik: Siput Sedut

Sedapkan siput sedut? Selalunya, segala mengenainya lauk siput sedut ni mmg sedap. Dari kuahnya, ke isinya, kena pulak yg pedas cili api kaw kaw punye, campur pulak batang keladi.....perrghhhh....confirm makan tak boleh berhenti, dengan berpeluhnya, menangisnya, melelehnya bukan aje air liur...tapi air hidung juga....hahahahaha... too much detail pulak...

Adik: Civic minded

On the way to work this morning, in the elevator;

Adik: Mama, semalamkan adik nampak ada orang tu dia makan chewing gum.
Me: (Listening)
Adik: Lepas tu kan dia tarik chewing gum tu dari mulut diaaa...
Me: (Eyes on the lift display)...lepas tu.
Adik: Lepas tu dia letak dekat yang tekan-tekan lift (the button on the panel) tu..... yuks!
Me: Laa ye ke.... adik tak marah dia ke?
Adik: Tak...dia bukan kawan adik...
Me: Bukan kawan pun adik boleh marah tau....adik tegur dia
Adik: haah kan....eeeiii kotor!

The lift reached the ground.
